Travelling to Mexico during covid

I must say travelling to Mexico with the whole Covid-19 pandemic around was a little scary, because I didn’t know what to expect. But I must say it was amazing. I left from Chicago ORD airport and the United Airlines flight has everyone separated with the middle seat empty. When I arrived in Cancun and made it to our transportation, they took our temp and gave us hand sanitizer. They also sprayed out bags and bottom of our shoes before we got into the transportation. Upon arrival to the resort… I stayed at the Majestic Elegance Resort in Costa Mujeres, they took another temp check and had us check in on the Adult only side. This resort is All inclusive. One half is Adult only the other side is Family Oriented.

When we arrived they upgraded out room from a smaller swim up suite to a big swim up suite room. TheĀ  difference is that the the smaller junior suite swim up doesn’t have a full living room. The bigger suite has a full living room as well as a private pool connected to the swim up pool.

The hotel was and still is only allowed to occupy 30% of visitors at a time, so the place was empty and plenty of space to have social distance. You had to make reservations for dinner so that they can keep control of traffic control. We went to an excursion to XPLOR theme park where we were swimming in caves, zip lining and atving. The food was all inclusive as well at the park as well. They serve you breakfast and lunch. Transportation picks you up and drops you off at the resort and they also take temp checks and keep everyone apart.

Cancun is such a beautiful place to go and they made sure to take necessary precautions to make sure that you and your family stay safe.
